About by Huw

Gizbuzz is a ‘technology blog’. Unfortunately there’s quite a lot of competition on that front, so we specialise a bit. We do lots of Web 2.0, lots of gadgets, lots of Windows Vista, and some of just about every other technology-related news topic. Huw founded Gizbuzz and needed someone to dep for him when he went away. Peter volunteered, and was so great that he stayed!

In November 2006, Gizbuzz became a founding blog in the Oratos Media blog network of technology blogs.

Huw Leslie
Huw Leslie has been blogging about technology since January 2006, galvanised into action by the gadget fever surrounding CES, and a tech enthusiast for much longer. When not writing about the latest Web 2.0 app, or pondering what Apple will announce next, he is usually singing, either in the shower or to an audience.

Huw lives in London, UK, and has a violent objection to the whole principle of root in Linux, much to the annoyance of Peter.

His personal blog is For Crying Out Loud.

Peter Upfold
Peter Upfold is a technology enthusiast interested in Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, cross-platform applications, web applications, web development, Web 2.0, blogging, podcasting, in fact, just about anything tech. Doing quite a bit of PHP in his spare time, he has written the excellent WPGet for displaying WordPress blog posts elsewhere on your site or even on another site. WPGet was nominated for the September 2006 Innovation Award at PHP Classes.

Peter lives in North Hampshire in the south of England and is an alternative platform advocate, running a dual-boot, but primarily Linux desktop and also owning a 13″ white MacBook running Mac OS X.

Chris Van Patten
Chris Van Patten is many things, including a filmmaker, lover of technology, blogger, website designer, writer, musician, pimp (seeing if you’re still awake!). He’s made several short films which are showcased at his site, Comitar Studios. He also blogs about new media, including filmmaking, at YouMakeMedia.

Chris is a proud New Yorker, although he doesn’t live in the city. Unfortunately.

Joel Selvadurai
Joel is an internet entrepreneur and has two sites under his belt; Messagr and now LiveChat2im. He studied Computer Science at the University of Durham and has always been interested in the internet. He area of special interest is instant messaging and in general how computers can change the way in which people communicate with each other.

When he’s not blogging or hacking together new web applications he likes to go out clubbing, play the piano, violin and play a little badminton.

Sam Davyson
Sam Davyson is a student. He is studying physical Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. But outside of the course he is an Internet Geek. He’s an early adopter of web 2.0 technologies, and a bit of a Google fanboy. He is interested in uses of new technology that really enhance previous solutions and improve experiences.

Sam lives for the most part in Sheffield. His favourite operating system is OS X, but he has plenty of experience with Windows too.
