I just wanted to ad, that whilst in the UK, I have taken the gamble and invested in a Zune (thanks to parents being on holiday in the USA at launch). I had actually waited for this a little bit, as i didnt wanna mess with itunes and the Ipod own issues. First impressions of Zune was how easy it all went. Had to install one required component to XP, and then zune software loaded, asked a couple of questions and that was it done! The only thing I didnt like was the auto sync that then happened as it attempted to dump my entire music collection on the the Zune. So fiddle with a couple of settings later and away I went with what I wanted on the the unit.

Works well, seems totally capable and moves smoothly between menu's. I was even plaesed when it automatically converted my video clips to zune format during transfer, after the nightmares with PSP this was refreshin.

All in all I like it, and am very pleased. It aint perfect, but does exactly what I wanted. Which is handle all my music without the need to change formats, and when you got over 40 gb of music, u dont want to mess with changing formats!

Cheers David

i completely agree with Jon,

mac has so many holes in its software and product.

microsoft has the ability to make a stronger product, just perhaps not the creativity

Why oh-why won't someone build a geniune iPod rival! It can't be that difficult - take their successful formula, add a few bells and whistles, make it look just as cool, and you have an iPod beater!!

For me, it's all about the software as well. iTunes does what it does very well, but it's not perfect, and it should be easy to emulate, especially by a major player like Microsoft.

If anyone does this their player & software combo is as good as iPod/iTunes, then leave a comment, as I have been putting off buying an iPod for years, and I'm not sure if I can wait any longer.
