VNUnet is reporting that a lot of people are labelling Microsoft’s Windows Genuine Advantage Notification service as spyware.
The service was introduced by Microsoft through Windows Update, so a lot of users had it automatically downloaded without realising it. What the tool does is that it checks to see if your copy of Windows is genuine. If not, it nags you to buy a real copy.
Recently, however, it was discovered that the software ‘phones home’ daily, and people are starting to ask questions.
Unfortunately, the Windows licence agreement does mean that you have already allowed Microsoft to install software to your machine without permission, so there’s no escape there.

First, I just want to say that I always use legitimately purchased software. However, if I ever did get my hands on some pirated stuff, I wouldn’t register it or allow it to contact the company’s site for updates or anything. That’s just asking for trouble!
I am requesting software company to disable or remove the star in my computer which stands genuine notification software.my cmputer software is genuine, I never had any pirate staff in my computer one day I had updates in my computer suddenly Irecieved genuine notification software after that i tried to remove but unfortunatelly it wasn,t easy, i will be greatefull if sofftware company consider my request and ilook forward to hear you thanks
