I first read about Valleyschwag a while ago, on Techcrunch, and I came across them again this week, and this time I subscribed. Basically, for a monthly fee of $20 here in the UK or $15 in the US, they send some schwag (cool promotional giveaways) from Silicon Valley startups. I signed up this time for a couple of reasons. First of all, it seemed like lots of other people were, and so I thought it must be something good. The people behind it certainly seems to have a good ‘Web 2.0 attitude’ (whatever that is!), and I guess they are using the idea to make some money for their very own startup at rubyredlabs.com. The second reason is that they added an incentive, in the form of Valleybeta, a program designed to connect keen early adopters with people trying to run good betas. Apparently you get access to better betas if you subscribe to Valleyschwag, and so being the massive beta junky that I am, I had no choice but to subscribe.
I’ll probably post some pictures when my schwag arrives (sometime mid-month), but in the mean time, you guys should sign up as well (if you haven’t already). When you do, post some pictures to Flickr (here), and/or email them to me at
. It would be great if we got our own little schwaggy community together. Look forward to seeing all those pictures!
