Both Peter and I were involved in the planning of, and Peter was a co-host of, a great new podcast called PodDev. The inaugral episode line-up is really strong, and having listened to the podcast, it doesn’t disappoint. From the shownotes:
In the first episode of PodDev, we discuss Apple’s WWDC preview of Leopard, Intel’s release of Open Source drivers, and Crunch Network’s launch of Crunch Gear.
We also learn a bit about Sun’s Java and where it may be headed in the future. Our guest is Paul Colton, a developer responsible for projects like Xamlon, AFLAX, and the new Aptana web development IDE.

Although there are lots of tech podcasts around, I think there is a real need for new quality ones. I was on holiday this week (thanks to Peter for holding the fort), and the weather was rubbish. I wanted some podcasts to listen to to pass the time, but couldn’t find any good podcasts of the beaten track (ie. TWiT, Diggnation etc). Most small tech podcasts consist of a lonely geek sitting in his bedroom recording his not very interesting thoughts on a topic already covered a million times over.
PodDev couldn’t be further away from this, and is a welcome addition to my podcast OPML.
